What is Growth and How is it Measured?

A real increase in GNP (Gross National Product) of the country. The growth is measured in percentage terms. The rate of growth for a given period (usually one year is in fact the rate of increase of the GNP in that period. When the GNP falls, this is usually referred to as negative growth.
